The Postal Service’s employee lead generation programs have reached $7 billion in estimated annualized revenue, a new milestone.
The programs, which began several years ago, encourage employees to provide USPS with tips on potential business opportunities.
Since fiscal 2018 began last October, the programs have generated more than $800 million in annual revenue. Western leads the areas in total leads submitted during this period, while the district leaders are Hawkeye and Colorado/Wyoming.
“The success of our lead generation programs reflects the strong commitment of our employees, as well as their close connection to the communities they serve,” said Acting Chief Customer and Marketing Officer Jacqueline Krage Strako. “Every day, our employees provide the Postal Service with valuable leads that we can use to grow our business.”
USPS offers several lead programs, including Business Connect, Clerks Care, Rural Reach, Customer Connect, Submit a Lead and the Mail Handlers Lead Program.
Business development specialists work to encourage more employees to participate in these programs.
“Postal Service employees are experts on our products and services,” said Veronica Powell, a Winston, NC, letter carrier who submits leads through the Customer Connect program. “When we encounter a business that could benefit from becoming a USPS customer, it’s our responsibility to share that information with the organization so we can help it generate new revenue.”
