USPS Operation Santa is accepting letters for 2026
The program helps fulfill the holiday wishes of people in need
USPS Operation Santa is now accepting letters filled with holiday wishes for its annual adoption and gift-giving initiative.
The program — now in its 114th year — allows generous people and organizations to adopt letters written by children and individuals in need to make their holidays a little brighter.
“The holidays are a time to celebrate the joy of the season. But for some, the simple act of exchanging even small gifts is out of reach,” said Sheila Holman, the Postal Service’s marketing vice president.
Registration to adopt letters starts Monday, Nov. 2. When letter adoption opens on Monday, Nov. 16, individuals and teams can adopt single or family letters.
Letters must be postmarked by Saturday, Dec. 5, to be eligible for adoption. Submitted letters must follow the program guidelines found on the USPS Operation Santa website. Letters should be sent to Santa’s official workshop address at 123 Elf Road, North Pole, 88888.
The USPS Operation Santa online gift catalog will be available again this year to help adopters shop and ship directly from the site.
“For more than 100 years, USPS Operation Santa has given kindhearted people the opportunity to make dreams come true for thousands of children and their families through simple acts of kindness,” Holman said.

A new stamp marks the school’s 150th anniversary
The Postal Service has released a video about its new U.S. Coast Guard Academy stamp, which honors the school’s 150th anniversary
Located in New London, CT, the academy provides cadets with the skills and experiences they need to safeguard America’s waterways and maritime infrastructure. Graduates commit to at least five years of service and earn both a bachelor’s degree and a commission as an ensign in the U.S. Coast Guard.
The stamp depicts two iconic U.S. Coast Guard vessels: the USCGC Eagle, a tall sailing ship used for training, and the USCGC Bertholf, a modern Legend-class vessel which deploys advanced technology against trafficking and other criminal activity.
The 3-minute video features archival footage and is narrated by Marc McCrery, USPS customer experience vice president. It also features interviews with U.S. Coast Guard Rear Adm. Greg Rothrock, the academy’s superintendent, and Capt. Kristopher Ensley, the commanding officer of the USCGC Eagle.

Here’s a look at recent USPS leadership announcements
The Postal Service recently made the following managerial and supervisory announcements:
• Abdul R. Bah was named revenue assurance executive manager. He previously served as revenue accounting programs manager.
• Holly R. Burrell was named Indianapolis postmaster. She previously served as Post Office operations support manager. She will continue to serve as Chicago Post Office’s acting officer in charge.
• Raj N. Patel was named Westshores Logistics Division director. He previously served as Central Region logistics operations support regional manager.
• Chanel L. Reedus, air cargo operations director, was named air logistics acting senior director.
The Postal Service recently recognized the following award:
• Eileen A. Walker, purchasing and supply management specialist, received a Chief FOIA Officer’s Award for her efforts to help the organization respond to Freedom of Information Act requests.

Kwanzaa stamp ceremony
The Postal Service will dedicate its Kwanzaa stamp on Wednesday, Sept. 23, in Norfolk, VA.
The event will be held at noon Eastern during the Association for the Study of African American Life and History annual conference in Hampton Ballroom 4 and 5 at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott, 235 E. Main St.
Attendees are encouraged to RSVP online.

The Postal Service is reminding employees and contractors to restart their laptop computer docking stations if they are having issues with their keyboards, mice or monitors, or if they are receiving a “No Internet” message.
The USPS ServiceNow website has more information. A video is also available on BlueTube. If a restart or reset of the docking station does not resolve the issue, employees and contractors can contact the USPS IT Service Desk at 800-877-7435.
