USPS Local XChange debuts
Buyers and sellers can conduct transactions without needing to meet in person
The Postal Service is offering customers a way to buy and sell goods by using USPS Smart Lockers.
Called USPS Local XChange, the service allows buyers and sellers who are local to each other to deliver and retrieve items purchased through an online marketplace without having to meet in person.
A seller can book the service through Click-N-Ship and take their item to a Post Office with USPS Smart Lockers. After the seller deposits the item in a locker, the system automatically emails a QR code to the buyer that will allow them to retrieve it.
The service costs $5.10 and the seller must package the item in a box or a poly bag that meets USPS mailing standards.

Watch a video about the Declaration of Independence
The stamp pays tribute to the document that has ‘inspired generations’
The Postal Service has released a video about its new Declaration of Independence stamp as part of the nation’s 250th anniversary celebration.
The 3 1/2-minute video features archival footage and interviews with Harvard University Professor Danielle Allen, University of Chicago Professor Steven Pincus and Lucy Trout, secretary to the USPS Board of Governors, who spoke at the July 4 dedication ceremony.
“The declaration was a fearless call for freedom and self-determination that defined the ideals of the American Revolution and lit a spark that has inspired generations,” Trout says in the video. “From the fight to end slavery to the push for civil rights, Americans have looked to the Declaration to demand the nation live up to its founding promises.”
