Hallmark to hold holiday-themed event at its headquarters

For those seeking the feeling of being in a Hallmark holiday movie, they can get their opportunity at the greeting card company’s inaugural Christmas Experience.

The event will take place in a specially created town square next to the company’s headquarters in Kansas City, MO.

One of the main activities will be a station where attendees can mail either a greeting card or a postcard for free, according to Lindsey Roy, Hallmark’s senior vice president of brand experiences.

“There will be five cards and one postcard that guests can choose from to write a heartfelt message and address to their friends and family,” Roy said.

The town square will also have holiday markets, tree lightings, light shows, food halls and an ice skating rink.

The event will take place each weekend from Friday, Nov. 29, through Monday, Dec. 23.

According to the Greeting Card Association, the holidays are the peak time for card sending,  with approximately 1.3 billion cards sent annually.

Hallmark began selling Christmas cards in 1915.
