Louisville, KY, Rural Carrier Associate Ethan Jones was delivering mail inside an apartment complex when a vehicle slammed into the building.
The driver had lost control of her SUV after getting into an accident. The vehicle rolled downhill before striking the building, causing structural damage and rupturing the gas line.
Jones ran outside and helped the driver out of her vehicle.
Soon afterward, the building caught fire.
Jones went back inside — going from apartment to apartment and beating on the doors to urge the residents to evacuate.
All the residents inside safely exited the building.
