Holidays with Hizzoner. Letter Carrier Ryan Grimley was doing collections in New York City last week when he spotted Mayor Bill de Blasio and his wife, Chirlane McCray, walking along Sixth Avenue.
To get the mayor’s attention, Grimley called out his first name: “Bill!”
“That’s Mayor Bill!” de Blasio replied with a chuckle.
Grimley asked the mayor if he and his wife would be willing to take a photo with him. De Blasio readily agreed and thanked Grimley — and the Postal Service — for their efforts this holiday season.
Easy button. The Postal Service is making it easier to sign up for Informed Delivery.
USPS recently introduced a “Sign Up for Free” button on its Informed Delivery site. When you click the button, you’re given several options, including signing up through your existing usps.com account or by creating a new account.
The new button replaces the previous “View My Mail” button.
Informed Delivery allows you to view incoming mail, track packages and schedule deliveries.
The Postal Service is encouraging employees to register for the free feature. Sign-up is voluntary and must be completed off the clock.
The Informed Delivery Blue and LiteBlue pages have more information.
