President Obama says he’s been receiving interesting mail as he prepares to leave office.
Mail has been a central part of Obama’s administration, which set up a special site a few years ago to highlight memorable letters to the president. Obama has also invited some letter writers to the White House.
The president recently told NPR he’s been getting mail lately from both Democrats and Republicans reflecting on his term.
Obama said his favorite letters come from people who didn’t vote for him but expressed appreciation for his service nonetheless.
“Those letters, in some ways, mean the most to me,” he said.
