In her latest “Business Focus” video, PMG Megan J. Brennan praises employees who are helping their communities return to normal after recent natural disasters.
Flooding occurred in Louisiana and West Virginia this summer, while major fires swept throughout the west.
“Our employees are on the front lines. They’re adapting to the conditions and serving our customers in every place where it is safe to do so,” Brennan says.
She also thanks employees for the Postal Service’s strong performance during the third quarter (April 1-June 30), including record results in Standard Mail, Priority Mail, Parcel Select and scanning, and improvements in First-Class Mail.
USPS must build on this success by continually improving customer service, the PMG says.
“We must continue to earn our customer’s business every day — because our customers have choices in how they market their products, how they choose to communicate, and who will be their shipper of choice,” she says.
Brennan also reports on postal reform legislation, which the U.S. House of Representatives could vote on this fall.
“While certain provisions may change throughout the legislative process, the proposed bill will provide greater financial flexibility to invest in the future of the organization,” she says.
Other topics addressed during the video include the latest financial results, the importance of election and political mail and upcoming stamp releases.
