The Postal Service has delivered its 2.5 billionth piece of peak season mail — to the Sheppard Mullin law firm in New York City, just steps from the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree.
Letter Carrier Gour Biswas delivered the package on Dec. 4 to Tom Parisi, the firm’s office services manager.
After more than 25 years of delivering mail, Biswas said he feels genuinely connected to Parisi and the other customers on his route.
“I am a part of the community here and glad to be a part of the Postal Service,” Biswas said. “I’m proud to deliver the mail and make sure my customers are happy and get their mail on time.”
Parisi was gratified to receive such a milestone package.
“Gour is the ‘mail carrier among mail carriers,’ and I’m so honored,” Parisi said. “This means a lot to me.”
The Postal Service is marking milestone deliveries throughout peak season, which runs from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day.
The 1 billionth piece of mail was recently delivered in Santa Claus, IN.
