Scanning snapshot. A snapshot of Postal Service scanning data shows the national rating was 96.95 percent during the week ending Aug. 13, down 0.20 percent from one week earlier.
The data was collected Aug. 18.
Western Pacific led the four areas with a rating of 97.05 percent, while Atlantic ranked last with a 96.77 percent rating.
Among the 50 districts, Washington, part of Western Pacific Area, ranked first with a 97.9 percent rating, while California 4, also part of Western Pacific, ranked last with a 95.17 percent rating.
Scanning data allows customers to track their mail and packages, which helps USPS deliver excellent service, boost loyalty and drive revenue.
To see the latest data, go to the Informed Visibility website and select “Customer Experience,” followed by “DES 2 Scan Performance.” Postal Service employees must request Informed Visibility access through eAccess.
Delivery data. From July 1-Aug. 6, the Postal Service delivered 88.9 percent of First-Class Mail on time when compared with the organization’s service standard, an improvement of 1.4 percentage points from the third quarter.
USPS reported the data last week, along with continued improvements in the delivery of Marketing Mail and Periodicals.
Heavy lift. Postal Bulletin’s Aug. 12 edition features an overview on proper lifting techniques, as well as the latest updates to USPS policies, procedures and forms.
Stamp ceremonies. The Postal Service will dedicate the Message Monsters stamps Sept. 24 in Topeka, KS, while the Day of the Dead stamp dedication ceremony will be held Sept. 30 in El Paso, TX.
