Three stamp releases will be part of this year’s price changes, the Postal Service announced Jan. 5.
Barns, four 36-cent postcard stamps; Brush Rabbits, a 20-cent additional ounce stamp; and Castillo de San Marcos, a $7.95 Priority Mail stamp, will be available beginning Jan. 24, when the price changes take effect.
The Barns stamps, announced in November, will feature digital paintings of four types of iconic barns found in the rural American landscape.
Each piece reflects a different season: a round barn surrounded by the hazy light and warm colors of fall, a gambrel-roofed barn in summer, a forebay barn in early spring and a Western barn on a winter’s night.
The Brush Rabbit stamp, also part of last November’s announcement, features an image of a small brownish cottontail rabbit of the U.S. West Coast and Baja California, Mexico. The stamp will be available in panes of 20 or coils of 100.
The newly announced Castillo de San Marcos stamp, which will bear the new Priority Mail price, will celebrate the nation’s oldest masonry fortification, located in St. Augustine, FL.
The stamp features a digital illustration of the fortress based on a contemporary photograph.
The Postal Service’s new prices, which regulators approved last month, will raise Shipping Services product prices approximately 3.5 percent for Priority Mail service and 1.2 percent for Priority Mail Express service, while Mailing Services product prices will rise approximately 1.7 percent.
There will be no national dedication ceremonies for the new stamps, which will be available at Post Offices and usps.com.
