Race for a $Billion aims to raise $1 billion through employee-provided sales leads before Sept. 30.

Race is on. The Race for a $Billion campaign has generated more than $447 million in estimated annualized revenue for the Postal Service so far.

The initiative, which began last fall, aims to raise $1 billion through employee-provided sales leads before the fiscal year ends Sept. 30.

Individual Post Offices are reaching important milestones in the effort.

One example: the St. Petersburg, FL, Midtown Post Office, which has scored a 100 percent employee participation rate in the Business Connect, Customer Connect and Clerks Care lead-sharing programs.

“The St. Petersburg Midtown Post Office is setting the pace, not only in Suncoast District but across the nation,” said Mary Anderson, small-business engagement director at USPS headquarters in Washington, DC. “The Postal Service encourages other offices to follow St. Petersburg’s lead and get your employees involved in this campaign.”

All inquiries pertaining to mailpieces must be emailed, along with an attached copy of the piece. Senders should include the piece’s height, length, thickness and weight.

Once the attachment is reviewed, the center, also known as the PCSC, will provide a determination.
