Board update. President Trump has announced his intention to nominate William Zollars, a Kansas resident, to be a member of the USPS Board of Governors.

The nomination will be for the remainder of a seven-year term expiring Dec. 8, 2022.

The U.S. Senate must confirm nominees before they join the board.

The governors are the principal officers of the Postal Service. The board is similar to a board of directors, conducting long-range planning and setting strategic policies, among other duties.

Postal Bulletin. The Postal Bulletin’s Dec. 19 issue includes an article on self-development training courses available to USPS employees.

The latest updates to policies, procedures and forms are also included.

How peak began. The latest USPS blog entry highlights the evolution of the Postal Service’s peak delivery season between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.
