Holiday ops, logo usage also highlighted

Western was the area leader in scanning during the week ending Dec. 13, while Dakotas finished first among the districts.

Scanning snapshot. The Postal Service’s national scanning rating was 97.74 percent during the week ending Dec. 13, down from one week earlier.

Western (98.08 percent) led the areas, while Dakotas (98.86 percent) topped the districts.

Scanning allows customers to track their packages and mail, and it helps USPS improve efficiency and network management.

To see the latest results, go to the Informed Visibility site and select “Customer Experience,” followed by “DES 2 Scan Performance.” Employees must request access to Informed Visibility through eAccess.

Holiday operations. USPS is providing general operating policy and planning guidance for the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays.

A new memo, available on Blue, explains guidelines for delivery, retail, processing, international service, maintenance and logistics operations.

Word to the WasteWise. USPS is reminding employees about the proper use of the WasteWise logo.

WasteWise is a voluntary program that helps organizations and businesses use sustainable management practices to reduce their carbon footprint through waste reduction.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) sponsors the program.

However, the WasteWise logo should not be used to in any way to imply the EPA or the WasteWise program endorses a participants’ products or services.
