Scanning, stamps and cybersecurity

Great Lakes was the area leader in scanning during the week ending Dec. 15, while Dakotas finished first among the districts.

Scanning snapshot. The Postal Service’s national scanning rating was 97.6 percent during the week ending Dec. 15, down from one week earlier.

Dakotas (99.1 percent) topped the districts, while Great Lakes (97.93 percent) led the areas.

Scanning allows customers to track their packages and mail. It also helps USPS improve efficiency and network management.

To see the latest results, go to the Enterprise Analytics site and select “Analytics Tools,” followed by “DES 2 — Scan Performance.”

Stamp dates. The Postal Service has announced release dates for several 2018 stamps, along with dedication ceremony locations. A Dec. 19 media advisory has details.

For your information. The CyberSafe at USPS team is sharing materials from a recent employee online safety fair at Postal Service headquarters in Washington, DC.

The materials include best practices to protect USPS and personal data and other information. Eight downloadable zip files are available.
