Sweethearts are receiving lots of Valentine’s Day shipments this year, new research suggests.

My money valentine. USPS will deliver lots of love before Feb. 14.

Twenty-seven percent of all Valentine’s Day purchases will be made online this year, the National Retail Federation reported last week.

The numbers are down slightly from 2016.

This year’s most common purchases are expected to include jewelry, clothing and candy.

Consumers will spend an average of $136.57, down from last year’s record high of $146.84.

Mail promotion. USPS is offering mailers a discount to encourage them to adopt technologies that make mail more interactive.

The promotion is aimed at mailers that use advanced printing and finishing techniques, such as special paper stock, substrates and inks.

Eligible mail includes commercial and nonprofit USPS Marketing Mail letters and flats.

The promotion runs until July 31.  Registration is currently open.

The PostalPro site has more information.
