The 40th stamp in the Black Heritage series will honor Dorothy Height (1912-2010), one of the most influential civil rights leaders of the 20th century.
The Postal Service has announced more subjects that will be featured on stamps next year.
The new stamps include:

Nebraska Statehood, celebrating the Cornhusker State’s 150th anniversary
Mississippi Statehood, celebrating the Magnolia State’s 200th anniversary
Celebration Boutonniere, a stamp that can be used on wedding RSVPs, party invitations, thank-you notes, announcements and other correspondence
Celebration Corsage, a 2-ounce stamp
Robert Panara, the 16th stamp in the Distinguished Americans series
Have A Ball!, featuring illustrations of eight different sports balls
Andrew Wyeth, a pane of 12 stamps honoring the painter
Henry David Thoreau, honoring the famed writer
Protect Pollinators, five stamps that pay tribute to monarch butterflies and western honeybees
“The Snowy Day” booklet, showcasing Ezra Jack Keats’ classic children’s book
Christmas Carols booklet, celebrating four stamps that honor the holiday jingles “Jingle Bells,” “Deck the Halls, “Silent Night” and “Jolly Old Saint Nicholas”
“2017 will be an exciting year for the Postal Service’s stamp program,” said Stamp Services Executive Director Mary-Anne Penner. “This amazing collection of stamps features beautiful art, distinguished Americans and historic events.”

The Nebraska Statehood stamp, celebrating the 37th state’s 150th anniversary, shows sandhill cranes flying low to scout for shelter from nighttime predators.
The Mississippi Statehood stamp honors the 20th state’s bicentennial with a close-up of a guitar player’s hands.
Celebration Boutonniere can be used on wedding RSVPs, party invitations, thank-you notes, announcements and other correspondence.
Celebration Corsage, a 2-ounce stamp, can accommodate the weight of heavy invitations for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and other celebrations.
The 16th stamp in the Distinguished Americans series will honor Robert Panara (1920-2014), an influential teacher and deaf studies pioneer.
The Have a Ball! stamps will feature colorful illustrations of eight different sports balls: baseball, basketball, football, golf, kickball, soccer, tennis and volleyball.
This pane of 12 stamps honors Andrew Wyeth (1917-2009), who created haunting and enigmatic paintings based largely on people and places in his life.
A stamp honoring Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862), author of “Walden,” will be issued.
The Protect Pollinators stamps depict two of North America’s most iconic pollinators, the monarch butterfly and the western honeybee, pollinating a variety of plants native to the continent.
Ezra Jack Keats’ beloved story, “The Snowy Day,” will be showcased in a 20-stamp booklet.
Christmas Carols, a booklet of 20 stamps, will celebrate “Jingle Bells,” “Deck the Halls, “Silent Night” and “Jolly Old Saint Nicholas.”
