USPS again named top agency for businesses

USPS has once again been named the top government agency for providing opportunities to diverse businesses.

The Postal Service was honored this week as the top government agency for providing opportunities for diverse business owners.

More than 1.5 million companies with diverse owners participated in an online election by, a multicultural business site, to determine the honorees.

The award is based on participants’ responses to questions regarding the volume, consistency and quality of the business initiatives that government agencies offer companies owned by women and minorities.

USPS has ranked among the top federal agencies for 15 consecutive years and has been awarded the top honor for the past five years.

“The Postal Service is honored to receive this award again this year,” said PMG Megan J. Brennan. “The supplier diversity program continues to strengthen our competitiveness in the marketplace. I am proud of our continued commitment to maintaining a strong, competitive and diverse supplier base.”

The Postal Service’s efforts include promoting supplier registration, conducting workshops and one-on-one business meetings, and providing online information about effectively marketing supplies and services.

This year’s award, announced in January, was presented April 26 at a diversity summit in New York City.
