The Postal Service’s Informed Delivery service and BlueEarth Secure Destruction program recently received World Post & Parcel Award nominations.
The awards honor delivery organizations that use innovation and creativity in their business operations.
Informed Delivery, a service that provides consumers with digital previews of their incoming mail, is nominated in the e-commerce category. The service, which USPS is testing, is on track to be available nationwide next year.
USPS BlueEarth Secure Destruction is nominated in the corporate social responsibility category. The program allows the Postal Service to shred and recycle undeliverable mail instead of transporting it back to the sender, reducing carbon emissions.
The awards will be presented June 15 in Poland.
