Park stamp showcases world wonder

One of the world’s most famous landmarks will grace the eighth stamp commemorating the National Park Service’s 100th anniversary.

Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona will be featured on the stamp, the Postal Service announced April 13. The image will be an iconic landscape painting by artist Thomas Moran.

The canyon, considered one of the world’s seven natural wonders, is 277 miles long, as many as 18 miles wide and 1 mile deep.

The stamp is one of 16 on a pane that will be dedicated June 2. USPS is revealing the stamp images throughout April.

Glacier Bay National Park and Reserve, Everglades National Park, Carlsbad Caverns National Park, Bandelier National Monument, Assateague Island National Seashore, Arches National Park and Acadia National Park images have been released so far.

Individuals are asked to spread the news on social media using the hashtags #NPSStamps, #FindYourPark and #NPS100.
