The Assateague Island National Seashore stamp

USPS has released the third image from its upcoming pane of National Park Service stamps.

The stamp, unveiled April 6, features the wild horses of the Assateague Island National Seashore, which stretches from Maryland to Virginia.

Horses freely roam the island among the plants and native animals that have adapted to a life of sand, salt and wind.

The Postal Service plans to dedicate a pane of 16 national park stamps June 2 at the World Stamp Show in New York City.

Each stamp image is being revealed during the next three weeks. Stamps that showcase Acadia National Park in Maine and Arches National Park in Utah have been announced so far.

Individuals are asked to spread the news on social media using the hashtags #NPSStamps, #FindYourPark and #NPS100.
