New video showcases fishing lures
Their ‘beauty and ingenuity’ are featured on a set of stamps
The Postal Service has released a video about its new Freshwater Fishing Lures stamps.
The Forever stamps showcase five lures that exemplify the evolution of lure design, from the earliest handmade spoon lures to modern swimbaits. There are countless types of lures available, each designed to meet the specific needs of the angler and attract the fish they are targeting.
The 2-minute video features comments from John DiPeri, the Postal Service’s Western Region vice president, who spoke at the March 13 dedication ceremony for the stamps.
“These stamps celebrate the beauty and ingenuity behind some of America’s most effective lures,” DiPeri says in the video. “They are a testament to anglers’ craft and innovation.”
