USPS employees can order semipostal stamp T-shirts May 15-Aug. 15.

Want to promote semipostal stamps? Here are the rules

USPS allows special activities from September through December

The Postal Service is reminding managers and employees of the rules for promoting semipostal stamps.

Each year, the organization sets aside four months to promote these stamps, which raise money for the associated causes:

• September for the Alzheimer’s stamp;

• October for the Breast Cancer Research stamp;

• November for the Save Vanishing Species stamp; and

• December for the Healing PTSD stamp.

USPS facility leaders and employees can promote semipostal stamps during those months but must follow these rules:

• Raffles and drawings are allowed if everyone can enter for free without having to buy a postal product, the prizes have been donated voluntarily by employees or paid for with authorized postal funds, and the promotions are held for each semipostal stamp.

• Decorations can’t use stamp images, including images of the semipostal stamps being promoted.

• The phrases “Fund the fight. Find a cure,” “#PostalProud” and “Postal Proud” can be used on decorations for Breast Cancer Research stamp activities, as can the Postal Service pink ribbon image, which is available from the USPS Ethics and Legal Compliance team.

• When communicating with the public and news media, employees may only use articles, press releases and marketing materials that have been approved and provided by Corporate Communications, Stamp Services, and Marketing.

• Outside organizations can’t distribute materials related to the semipostal stamp’s cause or hold awareness or charitable activities in Post Office lobbies or on postal property.

• USPS employees may not solicit or accept donations from customers.

Employees can order T-shirts from Tee Luv, at their own expense, from Wednesday, May 15, through Thursday, Aug. 15, using password USPS2024, to promote semipostal stamps.

Uniformed employees can wear the Postal Service’s licensed semipostal stamp T-shirts during promotional activities, with the head of the facility’s approval, on one business day each week.

Other employees may wear the T-shirts during work hours, if permitted by the head of the facility. The T-shirts worn should correspond to the semipostal stamp that is being promoted.

Employees with questions about semipostal stamp promotional activities should email the USPS Ethics and Legal Compliance team.

The Ansel Adams stamps will come in a pane of 16 of his most iconic images.

Ansel Adams had an eye for nature

USPS will feature the photographer’s iconic images of American treasures

The Postal Service will release its Ansel Adams stamps on Wednesday, May 15.

A masterful photographer and dedicated environmentalist, Adams (1902-1984) became one of the 20th century’s most renowned artists.

His signature style — an approach defined by a sharp focus and nearly infinite tonality — allowed Americans to experience the nation’s natural wonders in vivid detail.

The artist’s ability to visualize a subject as it felt to him emotionally led to some of the most famous images of America’s natural treasures.

Adams wrote and photographed extensively for the Sierra Club Bulletin, exhibited his prints at museums across the country, gave lectures on photography’s artistic merit, taught student workshops and helped create the first museum photography department at New York’s Museum of Modern Art.

He received wide-ranging recognition for his work during his seven-decade career.

In 1980, Adams received the nation’s highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Derry Noyes, an art director for USPS, designed the stamps using some of the artist’s most enduring images.

The Forever stamps will be available in panes of 16 at Post Offices and usps.com.

The stamps will be dedicated on May 15 during a ceremony in Yosemite National Park in California.
