USPS will soon begin accepting applications for the organization’s summer internship program.
The 10-week program is open to college undergraduate juniors and seniors, as well as students enrolled in postgraduate degree programs, to provide work experience in the students’ respective fields of study.
Internship positions will be posted on Sept. 28, with the application window closing Oct. 16, 2026. Career USPS employees are not eligible to apply.
The program offers internship positions in Washington, DC; Merrifield, VA; and Falls Church, VA.
Interested candidates must be enrolled at an accredited university and have 48 credit hours completed on their transcripts with a concentration in an applicable discipline such as engineering, human resources, accounting/finance, supply, sales/marketing, information technology, and others by the time of the application deadline.
Prospective interns can apply during the application window at usps.com/careers. Applicants should click “Career Opportunities,” followed by “Apply now” and then enter “intern” in the keyword search.
Internships will begin on Monday, May 17, 2027.
