USPS property is not an employee marketplace

Federal regulations prohibit commercial selling and advertising

USPS employees and contractors should consult Poster 7, Rules and Regulations Governing Conduct on Postal Service Property, for the rules that must be followed while on postal property.

The Postal Service is reminding employees and contractors that federal regulations prohibit them from selling items or advertising on postal property without a valid contract with USPS.

Employees who are on duty, in uniform or on postal property may not engage in sales activities on behalf of themselves or anyone else — including charitable organizations. On-duty employees are also prohibited from making arrangements to sell or purchase items outside of work.

Selling items while in uniform or on postal property is a violation of the Conduct on Postal Property regulations, the Standards of Ethical Conduct, and the Supplemental Standards of Ethical Conduct.

Poster 7, Rules and Regulations Governing Conduct on Postal Service Property, which is displayed in all USPS facilities, summarizes the rules that must be followed on postal property.
