The Postal Service is mailing a certificate of appreciation and lapel pin to employees who are known to have served in the armed forces.

Last week, Link got ready for Veterans Day with a look at the history of the national observance, news of a mailing of certificates and lapel pins to known USPS veterans, and the organization’s annual video salute.

We also informed readers of a Veterans Day-themed Combined Federal Campaign charity fair scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 12.

Additionally, Link shared Postmaster General David Steiner’s latest all-employee video message, and offered reminders on the cybersecurity risks of smart devices and on the federal rules prohibiting employees from using their position to influence hiring or contracting.

Elsewhere, “Off the Clock” told the story of Brenda Adams, a project manager for the Postal Service’s sustainability initiatives group in Washington, DC; “Heroes” spotlighted Douglas Olden, a Warrensburg, NY, letter carrier who assisted a man who called for help; and “People” told the story of Ryan Troy, an Olympia, WA, letter carrier who designed a stamp map.

And it’s that time of year: Link also offered a look at the Postal Service’s latest holiday video ad that emphasizes the organization’s 250 years of delivering.
