Like the Postal Service itself, Link is always changing to better serve its readers.
The daily news website for USPS employees began in the mid-1990s as Postal Link, a newsletter that was emailed to managers a few days a week.
By 2003, the publication — then known as USPS News Link — had gone daily and moved online.
“Heroes’ Corner,” a column that spotlights heroic, compassionate employees, debuted after Link moved online and became one of the site’s signature attractions.
Beginning in 2016, employees who didn’t have USPS computer accounts could sign up to receive weekly highlights at a personal email address — opening Link’s storytelling to a whole new postal audience.
Through it all, Link has provided a daily first draft of the history of the Postal Service, including the organization’s leadership changes, its response to emergencies such as Hurricane Katrina and the coronavirus pandemic, and the introduction of products and services such as USPS Informed Delivery and USPS Ground Advantage.
Today, Link begins the next phase in its evolution with a new, improved look and feel and a renewed commitment to telling the story of the Postal Service and its employees.
