St. Paul, MN, City Carrier Assistant David Kessah answered the call earlier this year when police in a nearby town asked the public to help find a missing child.
For several weeks, Kessah spent much of his free time searching for the boy, Barway Collins.
The child’s body was eventually discovered in the Mississippi River. His father was arrested.
The tragic outcome doesn’t diminish the countless hours that Kessah volunteered, police said. The department presented him with a letter of commendation, praising his contributions.
“We greatly appreciate the time and energy you contributed to the case,” the letter stated. “With your assistance, justice has been served for Little Barway.”
