The Postal Service is reminding employees that there are rules that govern speaking, writing or teaching about the organization or their official duties.
It is important for the Postal Service to present a single, united message to the public. While employed at USPS, employees are prohibited from:
• Profiting off postal information and their job duties, outside of their official position.
• Selling books, magazine articles or other writings that detail the specifics of their postal job duties or internal postal information.
• Accepting payment to give speeches about their postal job duties or internal postal information.
• Teaching courses regarding their postal duties or internal postal information.
Postal employees are permitted to teach courses that reference the Postal Service if the course uses an established curriculum that is not designed or supplemented by the employee.
