Letter Carrier Michael DiLella was recently making deliveries in a Rochester, NY, neighborhood when he grew concerned about an older customer whose mail was piling up unusually.
DiLella alerted the woman’s next-door neighbors, who promptly checked on her and found that she’d fallen two days earlier.
Paramedics were dispatched to the scene to provide medical assistance.
The customer is recovering from the incident.
“The neighbors credit Michael with saving her life,” said local Postmaster Derek Spencer.
