The Postal Service has presented Safety Leadership and Vision Awards to seven district managers in recognition of their efforts to foster and sustain safe working environments.
The awards were presented Nov. 22 during a virtual ceremony.
USPS created the Safety Leadership and Vision Awards in 2019 to honor managers who exceed requirements for maintaining safe workplaces by reducing accident rates and improving performance compared with the same period one year earlier.
“One of the key aspects of the Delivering for America plan is driving up employee retention and establishing a winning culture. None of that is possible without an intentional focus on safety,” Isaac Cronkhite, chief logistics and processing operations officer, told attendees during the ceremony.
“There is no better way to show we value a person who is starting a career with the Postal Service.”
The seven district managers honored this year were:
• Lisa Baldwin, California 6 District;
• Lorraine Castellano, New York 1 District;
• Le Gretta Goodwin, Maryland District;
• Jagdeep Grewal, California 1;
• Ron Haberman, Alaska District;
• Eric E. Henry, New York 3 District; and
• Neftali Pluguez, Puerto Rico-Caribbean District.
Linda DeCarlo, occupational safety and health senior director, said the honorees “have shared a personal and compelling vision designed to move the organization out of the problems of the past and into a better future. They have all built a legacy by helping to build future leaders and showing employees that they care about their safety.”
