Customer Services Supervisor Allen Milletics was on duty one day in January in New Port Richey, FL, when an older customer had a heart attack in the parking lot while she was behind the wheel.
Milletics hurried outside and safely secured the woman’s vehicle while another customer called 911.
The Postal Service employee then lifted the driver out of her car to perform CPR, as directed by the 911 dispatcher, until paramedics arrived and rushed her to a hospital.
“The family has thanked Allen for saving her life so that there was enough time for all of them to gather in Florida to see her before she passed away,” said local Postmaster Edward Haab.
