Carrier Technician Juana Palacios was making deliveries one day in March in a West Warwick, RI, neighborhood when she came upon a customer lying on the ground.
The man, who couldn’t speak, was semiconscious and foaming at the mouth in frigid temperatures.
Palacios immediately called 911 and stayed with the customer until paramedics arrived and took him to a hospital.
“Juana’s timing, quick thinking and compassion got him the emergency treatment needed to survive his medical episode,” said Todd Rekrut, the local USPS officer in charge.
