In today’s age of text messages and social media, one college professor has turned back the clock to focus on the importance of letter writing.
After finding handwritten notes from her late father-in-law, Dallie Clark — a humanities professor at Collin College in Plano, TX — decided to create an exhibit and documentary about letter writing in the digital age.
“I want people to pause and think about letter writing as this wonderful connection to our humanity,” Clark told The Dallas Morning News last week.
“In a world where we’re consumed by the practical, it’s really important to stop and realize that life is about more than practical matters. Letters remind us of the importance of deeper conversations.”
The exhibit and documentary are slated to debut in 2017.
