The Postal Service is encouraging employees to start planning their transition back to the office, including their use of commuter benefits.
Many employees suspended or decreased their Commuter Benefits Program deductions when they began working from home in 2020.
The Commuter Benefits Program allows postal employees to pay for qualified commuting costs with pretax money, saving up to 40 percent on commuting costs.
Employees wishing to change their deductions as they return to the office should do so by 11:59 p.m. ET on the 27th of the month that falls two months before they wish to use the commuter benefits.
This means that if you need changes to begin in August, the deadline is June 27.
For more information on the program, go to the Commuter Benefits LiteBlue page or email the USPS Health and Wellness team.
