In a new video, the stars of the CBS TV drama “The Inspectors” express their pride in portraying postal employees.
“I had no idea what a Postal Inspector was until I started on this show,” says Bret Green, who plays Inspection Service intern Preston Wainwright. “I did my research and found out that it was a pretty awesome agency.”
“The Inspectors,” which debuted Oct. 3, follows an Inspection Service unit that focuses on consumer fraud and other postal crimes. Most CBS stations air the show Saturdays at 10:30 a.m., although times may vary so viewers should check local listings.
The crimes depicted on “The Inspectors” are based on true events from the Inspection Service’s files.
“I would love for the postal employees to know that we care very much about getting it right,” says Terry Serpico, who plays Inspector Mitch Ohlmeyer.
Chief Postal Inspector Guy Cottrell, who delivers a crime-prevention message at the end of each episode, hopes the series will become an educational tool for the public.
“We’re always looking for innovative ways to get our message out, and this is just another avenue,” Cottrell says.
