Letter Carrier Sandra Hahn was recently delivering mail in a Burlington, IA, neighborhood when she saw a customer in distress outside her home.
Hahn stopped to check on the woman, who has Alzheimer’s disease, and found that she was frightened because a bandage on her face was loose and dangling from her forehead.
The customer indicated she was afraid of anyone touching her face, and she grew increasingly upset.
Hahn called the local Post Office, and emergency responders were dispatched to the scene.
The Postal Service employee stayed with the customer and comforted her until police officers arrived to provide further assistance.
