My name is Sonia Holley and I’m an Atlanta District business development specialist. I connect with small-business owners and show them how our products and services can help their companies grow.
I typically make 20-50 calls to local businesses a day. However, the most important part of my job is working with Postal Service employees and encouraging them to participate in our lead generation programs. We typically receive 45-75 leads a week that we follow up on, working with our local sales team.
Before joining USPS 22 years ago, I served in the U.S. Marine Corps for eight years.
Within a month of leaving the military, I was hired as a retail associate at the Huntingtown, MD, Post Office, but I realized I had a passion to be in management. I then served as Postmaster in three Maryland offices before relocating to Connecticut, where I worked as a field sales representative for headquarters. Six years ago, I relocated to Georgia and moved into my current role.
My job descriptions and titles have changed, but my goal remains the same: mentor new folks, learn from seasoned folks and then develop my own ideas. Everyone brings something to the table.
I’ve been married for 22 years, and the Postal Service has given my husband and me a stable platform to raise a family. We have two daughters and two grandbabies: Zoey, who is 4 years old, and Camdyn, who is 1. I specialize in spending time with family during my free time. If I get an extra day off, I’ll throw together a quick family vacation.
I’m truly passionate about USPS. I never turn anyone away who is willing to learn. My door is always open.
