Letter Carrier Terry Lowie was recently delivering mail in Sycamore, IL, when he spotted a blind pedestrian stranded in an intersection.
Lowie stopped to aid the man, whose guide dog had gotten disoriented while crossing the street.
With traffic paused in both directions, the Postal Service employee helped the man and his dog safely reach a sidewalk.
A bystander who witnessed the incident later visited the local Post Office to praise Lowie.
“She told me it was the greatest thing she’d seen in a long time,” said Customer Services Supervisor Wendy Bernat.
