Acting Customer Services Supervisor Bryan Thompson was on the job recently at Ogden Park Station in Chicago when a female co-worker’s former boyfriend gained access to the building and confronted her.
Thompson rushed to his colleague’s defense when the man started striking her, and intervened further when the assailant produced a club he’d been hiding underneath his clothing.
Thompson urged employees on the scene to run and call 911, and the attacker soon fled the station.
“Bryan is a humble person,” said Acting Customer Services Manager Deborah Saffore. “But his quick actions may well have saved another employee’s life. I’m thankful he was here and for what he did.”
The victim is recovering.
