Cara Greene has been named the Postal Service’s controller and vice president, a position she has held on an acting basis since August. The appointment takes effect March 2.
Greene, part of the chief financial officer’s organization, certifies financial filings and oversees external reporting, corporate accounting, accounting services, international accounting, revenue assurance, and compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley law, among other duties.
“In this role, she has performed at a high level and provided excellent support and counsel to the finance group and the executive leadership team,” Postmaster General Megan J. Brennan wrote in a memo announcing Greene’s appointment.
Greene previously served as corporate accounting manager, a role responsible for accounting policies, practices, controls and the preparation of periodic financial statements. She joined USPS as external reporting program manager in 2016.
Before beginning her postal career, Greene worked as a manager for a large accounting firm and as a senior manager for an international consulting company.
