Phoenix Letter Carrier Celeste Vu had just delivered mail to an 86-year-old customer, Tom Alexander, one day last October when she heard a loud groan.
Vu turned around and saw that Alexander had fallen in his driveway.
She rushed to the customer’s aid and got him back on his feet.
Alexander, a Korean War veteran who lives alone, later mailed a letter to the local Post Office.
“The strength of her grip as she helped me reassured me that I was in good hands,” he wrote. “May God bless her and all members of the United States Postal Service.”
