Letter Carrier Lea Siget was delivering mail on a fall day in Rochester, PA, when she spotted a 17-month-old toddler wandering alone at an intersection.
Siget stopped to check on the boy, who was dirty and wearing only a polo shirt and a diaper when the temperature was barely above freezing.
The Postal Service employee alerted police and comforted the boy until officers arrived to investigate.
It was eventually determined that the toddler lived three blocks away.
The incident led to felony child endangerment charges against two adult caregivers, according to a local newspaper, The Times.
