You can learn more about the advantages of high-deductible health plans (HDHPs) and health savings accounts (HSAs) through a 2-minute video.
The segment, titled “A Closer Look,” explains that an HDHP, combined with an HSA, can save Postal Service employees money when compared to traditional plans.
HDHPs allow users to spend less on insurance premiums while building up funds in an HSA.
The video also highlights the tax advantages of using HSAs.
Additionally, the video notes employees who use HSAs can take the money they’ve saved with them if they switch from an HDHP to a more traditional plan in the future.
The Open Season LiteBlue page has more information about HDHPs, HSAs and other health plan options available to employees through the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program.
Open season, the annual period when employees can make benefits changes, ends Dec. 10.
