City Carrier Assistant Sarah Denton was recently delivering mail in Kalamazoo, MI, when a woman in a car called out for help.
Denton investigated and found the woman’s companion unconscious and turning blue in the back seat.
The Postal Service employee enlisted bystanders to help remove the man from the vehicle. She then called 911 and followed the operator’s instructions to begin chest compressions.
Emergency responders soon arrived and revived the man — an overdose victim — with an antidote.
They also thanked Denton for providing timely assistance that ensured the man’s survival.
