Did you know the Postal Service handles almost half the world’s mail volume?
Or that 318 employees were honored for their heroism during the previous fiscal year?
Or that the organization receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations?
If any of this information comes as a surprise to you, USPS wants you to check out Postal Facts, a newly updated site that showcases data about postal operations, innovations, sustainability, stamps and other topics.
“Postal Facts helps tell the Postal Service’s story,” said Corporate Communications Vice President Janice Walker. “Whether you’re an employee or a customer, you’ll find information that will help you better understand how our organization delivers for the nation.”
The site’s new design features a more visually appealing format, a better search function and the ability to print individual facts or entire sections.
Each fact is also accompanied by buttons that allow users to share the information on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other social media sites. USPS requires employees to use social media while off the clock and off postal property.
Additionally, when you go to the site on a mobile device, you can save it to your home screen as an easily accessible icon.
Postal Facts is located at facts.usps.com.
