Washington, DC, Letter Carrier Byron Anderson recently participated in a school’s career day alongside a special guest: first lady Michelle Obama.
Anderson, a 42-year postal employee, visited Capital City Public Charter School to help about 75 seniors complete and mail college applications. Obama also dropped by to offer advice and encouragement.
“I was pleased to have the opportunity to meet the first lady and represent the Postal Service,” said Anderson, who works at the Lamond Riggs Post Office.
“I myself have three children who graduated from high school and went on to college, and I’m sure the first lady will further inspire the students to go on to the next level.”
