Letter Carrier Amy Helsley was recently delivering mail on a frigid day in Grand Rapids, MI, when she saw a startling sight: a pair of feet sticking out of snow in a customer’s driveway.
Helsley investigated and found that an 80-year-old man who was home alone had slipped and been stranded for some time without a hat or gloves.
The customer said he was unhurt but needed help to get inside.
The Postal Service employee got the man up on his feet and into his home before continuing on her route.
