Scanning snapshot. The Postal Service’s national scanning rating was 97.38 percent during the week ending Jan. 26, up from one week earlier.
Dakotas (98.89 percent) topped the districts, while Western (97.89 percent) led the areas.
Scanning allows customers to track their packages and mail. It also helps USPS improve efficiency and network management.

EPCRA reporting. Postal Service facilities that store certain quantities of hazardous chemicals must complete and submit the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), Tier II Form, by March 1 each year.
Reporting requirements apply to any location that stores threshold quantities of EPCRA-regulated chemicals. Regulated chemicals used by USPS include sulfuric acid in lead-acid batteries, gasoline, diesel fuel, heating oil, ice melt and anti-skid products.

New stamps. USPS will release its Bioluminescent Life stamps Thursday, Feb. 22.
The stamps, which celebrate the ability of some species to glow, will be dedicated that day at a ceremony in Ft. Pierce, FL. This week’s media advisory has more information.
