Letter Carrier Michael Gravatt was recently delivering mail at an apartment community in Glendale, AZ, when he heard a customer in trouble.
An older woman was calling out for help after falling inside her unit.
Gravatt heard a dog barking in the apartment, too, so he remained outside while dialing 911 and assuring the customer that help was on the way.
He then alerted a property management staff member, who stayed on the scene until emergency responders arrived.
“Michael showed exemplary care and compassion, going above and beyond to assist a customer in distress,” said Glendale Postmaster Billy Garrett.
